Abstract: Information about the several topics discussed at the annual week-long conference entitled "Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics/Quantum Electronics and Laser Science (CLEO/QELS)" in May 2008 at San Jose, California is presented. Topics include the detection of existence of gravitational waves. The conference featured several spokespersons including David Reitze from the University of Florida, Thomas Philbin from the University of Saint Andrews and Moti Segev from Technion Institute.
