Abstract
- The article reports that James Delayo, the acting chief inspector of cranes and derricks in New York City, has been charged with accepting bribes in exchange for crane permits and the answer sheets to the city's operator examinations. The charges came as a result of the New York Department of Investigation's look into the fatal crane collapses in Manhattan in March and May 2008. Delayo allegedly took a $500 bribe from a crane company for passing someone who did not take an exam, as well as giving a copy of an exam to a crane company for $3,000.
