Abstract
- The article focuses on a research paper by Fieke Molenaar and colleagues, which compares the serum concentrations of biochemical indicators of iron metabolism in free-living and captive black rhinoceroses, using 27 free-living animals in Kenya and 12 captive animals in Great Britain. The paper mentions that captive animals in Kenya had higher serum transferring saturation, iron, urea and gamma glutamyl transferase and lower unbound iron binding capacity and inorganic phosphorus.
