Abstract
- The article focuses on New York company VoodooVox founded by Scott Hamilton which reflects the relentless search by marketers for new ways to reach potential customers. Callers stuck on hold waiting for a customer-service representative are particularly susceptible to marketing pitches while they are on hold because they are attentively waiting for someone to arrive on the other end of the line. VoodooVox's ads play during 320 million calls a month and revenues are divided with the publisher of the call such as radio stations or conferencing services.
