The article examines the changes of the patch test population in long-term participants of the Information Network of Departments of Dermatology from 1999-2006. It discusses the profound impact of demographic and clinical characteristics of patients on the observed spectrum and frequency of contact allergy. It intends to supplement results of the study with present data and discuss the consequences for the interpretation of patch test data.
