Abstract
- The article discusses the potential relationship between the San Andreas Fault of California and the Cascadia Subduction Zone in the Pacific Northwest. With the use of ocean sediment cores, researchers find out that San Andreas Fault quakes are often preceded by Cascadia earthquakes in the past 3,000 years. In the concept of stress transfer, researchers further asserts that quakes along one fault can cause quakes along another fault.
