Abstract

The article focuses on a construction project that involves a $475-million, curvy skyscraper to be built in Chicago, Illinois, Dubbed Aquam, the 2.2-million-square-foot tower and podium are supported by a central core, columns, shear walls, outrigger walls and belt walls. Aqua's 82 stories of curvy concrete slabs, averaging 16,000 square feet, will cantilever far past a glass-perimeter window-wall from zero to 12 feet to take advantage of city and Lake Michigan views.
