Abstract: This section offers news briefs in the chemical industry. According to Solutia, its Flexsys America subsidiary has filed a patent-infringement complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission against Sinorgchem and two Korean firms. Arkema plans to build a new compounding line at its Bristol, Pennsylvania plant to increase capacity of Plexiglas acrylic resin and acrylic capstock specialty products. In Germany, chemical production increased 2.3% in the first quarter compared with the year-ago period.
