Abstract
- The article discusses whether speculation by hedge funds bears some responsibility for rising chocolate prices. Chief financial officer Ken Hanna of Cadbury PLC notes that investors as well as chocolate makers create demand for cocoa. On New York's Intercontinental Exchange the price of cocoa has risen more than 50% since the start of 2007.
