Its effects release dopamine which results to feelings of euphoria wherein the users may experience anxiety, depression and fatigue. People use crystal methamphetamine since it offers energy to dance for hours and increase libido and its use by gay men is linked with high-risk sexual behavior. The psychiatric intoxication related to methamphetamine use may be treated with diazepam. It is averred that treatment of methamphetamine dependence is challenging since there are no effective medications and behavioural and cognitive approach have not shown long-term benefits.
