Promoting Science via an Equipment Loan Outreach Program.

This article discusses an outreach program that has been successful in addressing the problem of short interaction time during school demonstration visits. Ocean Optics spectrometers were incorporated into the outreach program to introduce spectroscopy to local high school science students. Benefits that the equipment loan program to both the participating schools and the program institution include the introduction of students involved in the program to the field of optic spectroscopy.
