Abstract

The article discusses troubleshooting implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) technology problems. Troubleshooting starts if a patient complained a possible device related problem or a regular technical follow-up shows a possible device deviation. The device will be interrogated extensively and the retrieved data will be analyzed. Evaluation methods include electrocardiography, Holter monitoring and others. ICD related problems include shocks, dizziness/fainting, palpitations, and alerts.
