Abstract
- The article focuses on the debate over a wind farm which two corporations want to build on moorland on the north of the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. The sheer scale of this open air industrial installment would be unprecedented: 181 white turbines, each 140-meter high, would be visible from dozens of miles away, according to the article. The Lewis wind farm is supported by some local people, by the developers, by the European Commission and by many environmentalists. However, many people also oppose it, saying the moor means so much to them.
