Abstract

The article discusses the perception and experiences on domestic violence particularly of women in Pakistan. The international non-government organizations (NGO) and the Human Rights Commission reveal that domestic violence is one of the greatest threats to women's security, health and well being in the country. Moreover, the discussion explores the study on domestic violence particularly on the issues of cultural beliefs and perceptions, such as discriminatory civil and criminal laws and an overall climate of structural disadvantages. Furthermore, it shows the result of the comprehensive interviews on women who personally experienced some form of domestic violence.
