- Discusses how the practice of cataloging genetic mutants can reveal relationships between genes, and how applying this practice has led to the establishment of a link between Ataxia telangiectasia (ATM) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS1), two genes involved in human diseases. Details of the four papers discussed in the May 25, 2000 edition of `Nature' magazine regarding genetic mutants.
