Abstract

Domaine de Blanes has produced a beautiful 2007 dry white by blending muscat blanc a petits grains, perhaps the oldest known grape variety, with deeply aromatic muscat of Alexandria. This so-called vin de pays (country wine) from Cotes Catalanes in Languedoc-Roussillon, in southern France near Spain, is as light as chiffon. Drink it young with spicy paella.
