Abstract

This paper studied the clonal propagation of camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia Mc Vaugh. The experiment was carried out at UNESP/FCAV (21°15′22″S and 48°18′58″W), Jaboticabal, SP, in April. Apical softwood leafy cuttings were treated with IBA (0, 1000, 3000 e 5000 mg.L-1). After the treatment, the cuttings were placed in a drilled box supplied with vermiculite under intermitent mist inside a lathhouse. After 90 days evaluations were made of rooting survival, permanence of leaves and callus of the cuttings, number and length of roots. The IBA did not increase the survival, permanence of leaves nor callus of the cuttings, number and length of roots. The IBA increased the rooting, with 1000 and 3000 mg.L~' presenting the best results (30 and 31,7% respectively). Rooted cuttings were planted and stayed more than one month under mist. All the plantlets survived. These results differ from other reports in the literature. In conclusion, the experiments must be regional for determination of the success of this specie cuttings, as well as to establish the time and concentration of IBA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
