Abstract
- The article reports that engineers have been considering ice blocks, boreholes, and groundwater cooling to cut temperature on Tube network in London, England. Underground engineers favour a hybrid cooling system which comprises of ice blocks stored under the seats and refrigeration units. According to Kevin Payne, director of the Cooling the Tube Programme at Transport for London, the technology is the possible hope for the future of deep tube lines.
