Nowadays many research works on Jewish identity in the works by Philo of Alexandria have focused on the author's definitions of himself as a Jew. The purpose of this paper is to answer who is a Jew according to Philo and how the construction of gender appears in his works as the feminine in its twofold aspect, woman and virgin.
