EVALUACION DE ESTEREO AGUDEZA EN PREESCOLARES DE 2 y 3 AÑOS DE EDAD EN LAS COMUNAS DE PROVIDENCIA Y ÑUÑOA, CON EL TEST DE ESTEREOPSIS RANDOT PREESCOLAR.

The present work propose to use the Test of Estereopsis Randot Preschool (TERP), to evaluate the Stereo-Acuity (SA) in children of 2 and 3 years, and so to know its efficiency in the detection of the visual anomalies and its application from the 2 years. This study is Prospective of Exploratory type, with design of cross section. The sample corresponds to 173 children from 2 and 3 years, that attend to kindergarten that belong to mayoralties of Providencia and Ñuñoa of Santiago-Chile. 160 children carried out the exam. The mode for the SA at the age of 2 years was 100"arch and for the 3 years, 60" and 40" arch. Of the 160 children examined with the TERP, 7 failed in the test. Of these, only 1 did not attend the performing of the other exams to validate results of the TERP. Of the 6 that attended, the alteration of the V.B. was confirmed. In 4 of them (VP) and 2 were found normal (FP). Consequently, it was established that the 96% of the sample obtained an SA <200" arch and the 51% = 60" arch; the distribution of SA it's associated directly with the age of the child; they recognize figures of the TERP: 84% of the children of 2 years and the 99% of 3 years; and the TERP showed to have an efficiency in the premature detection of visual anomalies of the 67% and a value FP 33%.
