Abstract
- The article reports that the foreign-currency reserves of Japan have exceeded $1 trillion in February 2008. It notes that the performance of the currency reserves, which stands as the first for the country, was brought in by a stronger euro against the U.S. dollar and a gain in the value of its U.S. Treasury bonds. According to the Ministry of Finance, the reserves increased by $11.94 billion to reach $1.01 trillion. It mentions that Japan and China are the only nations with over $1 trillion in foreign-currency reserves.
