Abstract
- A biography of Professor Rainier E. J. Arbogast, physician and the president of the German Society of Surgery, is presented. He was born on June 18, 1944 in Poland, and attended primary and grammar school in Speyer, Germany. He served in the military, but stopped and enrolled in human medicine at the Universities of Heidelberg and Freiburg. Professor Arbogast is married to Ingrid Halling, a pharmacist, and they have a daughter who is studying pathology and a son who has a legal career.
