Abstract
- The article demonstrates how the complex split narrative of the film "High Noon," by Fred Zinnemann explains the film's major two women characters including a Quaker woman and a Mexican-American woman. The women in the film surprise the film's viewer with their ability to survive in the narrative and maturity in dealing with their life principles. However, film critic Helen Ramirez said that the film voices a strong subtext against male power and violence against women and embodies the violent and reductive truth.
