Abstract
- The article reports on the failure of the Chancellor of the Exchequer in Great Britain, Alistair Darling, to live up to promises of strong environmental measures in the government budget he presented in March 2008. The measures intended to curb climate change, such as environmental taxes and adjustments to emissions-trading schemes, are seen as modest.
