OXAMNIQUINE.

A monograph for the pharmaceutical substance "OXAMNIQUINUM/OXAMNIQUINE" from the fourth edition of "The International Pharmacopoeia" is presented. Oxamniquine is categorized as antischistosomal and described as a yellow-orange, crystalline powder, that is sparingly soluble in water and soluble in methanol R and acetone R. It is recommended that this substance be kept in a well-closed container. Procedures for performing an identity test and assay of the substance are described.
