Abstract

The article examines the thermodynamics of hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) to a high-valent iron imido complex that is supported by a bulky tris(carbene)-borate ligand. The authors determine the barriers toward electron and proton transfer to calculate the thermodynamic barrier to HAT. They add that the barrier toward proton transfer has been estimated by reaction of LMesFeî—ĽNAd with a series of acids that differ in their pKa.
