Abstract
- The article examines the trend of advertising campaigns depicting fathers as being foolish and unintelligent. The article discusses how throughout the history of advertising, fathers were depicted as being the breadwinner and mother's were shown as being the shoppers. It is suggested that in contemporary society fathers are doing more shopping for the family, which is why marketers should not be poking fun at them.
