Abstract

The article presents a study which determines the personal physical activity (PA) levels and counselling practices of medical students in the U.S. The researchers conducted a prospective survey of a representative sample of medical students to determine health-related attitudes and practices using a Godin exercise questionnaire. The results indicate that personal PA levels in medical students are correlated with frequency of PA counseling of their patients. It is suggested that adequate PA habits during medical education may be an essential step to improve the PA preventive counselling that future clinicians offer.
