Abstract
- The article reflects on the ethical significance of research that produced induced pluripotent cells (iPCs) that is similar to human embryonic stem cells (hESC). It comments on the assumption that the derivation of stem cells without the use of eggs or destruction of embryos solves all the major ethical issues pertaining to stem cell research. It notes that it would affect scientific progress and human welfare if priority-setting in science were dictated by the degree of opposition to a particular practice.
