Harnessing mismatch repair to model sporadic cancers.

The article presents information about two studies that have used mouse systems that model sporadic tumor initiation. In the first study, the researcher placed the frameshifted Cre under the control of the human homeobox gene promoter and generated transgenic mice. In second case the researcher engineered a frameshifted 12ACre that was targeted to disrupt exon 2 of the mismatch repair gene Pms2.
