Abstract
- The article discusses the highlights of the American Library Association's 2008 (ALA) Midwinter Meeting held from January 11 to 14 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The ALA listed committee meetings, events and discussion groups dealing with various topics from social networking applications to virtual reference desks. While the ALA councils were busy with business meetings, the sessions captivated audiences, along with special programs such as the ALA President's Program featuring basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
