Abstract
- The author comments on the study which examines the effect of antibiotic resistance status on the efficacy of triple and quadruple therapies for Helicobacter pylori. According to the author, metronidazole (MTN) resistance seems to be less important than clarithromycin (CTM) resistance because it can be overcome to some extent. With the amoxicillin-nitroimidazole-bismuth triple therapy, a larger daily close of nitroimidazole can eradicate resistant strains.
