Abstract

The article discusses the growth of social networking web sites, particularly for businesses. According to a March 2007 study by the Institute for Corporate Productivity, 65 percent of business professionals use personal and professional social networking web sites. Fifty-five percent use online social networks to share best practices with colleagues, while 47 percent use them to connect with potential clients and market their skills. Further, some web sites focus on business-to-business connections, especially for small businesses of which these online social networks are a big help for them.
