Abstract
- The article reports that proposals from activist money manager Children's Investment Fund Management (UK) LLP known as TCI have been rejected by Japan's Electric Power Development Co. (J-Power). The British fund, which is the largest shareholder in J-Power, called on the Japanese electric wholesaler to boost return on equity, sell cross-shareholdings, improve corporate governance, and name 2 TCI employees to its board. The fund said that the proposal would boost shareholder value.
