Anglo American Taps Bechtel for Los Bronces Expansion.

Bechtel Corp. announced that it has received the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the $1.7 billion development project of Los Bronces which will be completed and operational by January 2011 and expected to provide more than 30 years of mine life. Goldcorp Inc. plans to expand the Peñasquito project mill throughput by 30% as well as the acceleration of the production schedule scheme to attain 48% increase in production reserves and outputs that will cost $1.49 billion. Cardero Resource Corp. released its advanced engineering/prefeasibility-level studies on the development phase of the Pampa El Toro iron stands deposit and scoping level studies which will start in January 2008.
