Abstract

The article offers information about Malaysian and Singaporean literature wherein the two countries' English-language literature's imbalance of creative works, studies, and information still persists. The inequality could be partially accredited to the historic postcolonial deviations in stress on the language in the two countries. On the other hand, the future output growth in Malaysian literature in English can be credited to the increased consciousness of the practical essence of English in Malaysia. The article presents different works in the two countries' literature including Tash Aw's novel "The Harmony Silk", and Cyril Wong's "Unmarked Treasure". It also suggests that the web is important for research on Malaysian and Singaporean literatures in English.
