Abstract

The article focuses on the use of cholinesterase inhibitors (CEIs) in the treatment of dementia. It notes that only 5% to 15% of patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) truly benefit from CEIs. It stresses that the failure of pharmaceutical companies to provide access to data that were generated with the help of dementia patients and their caregivers violates their trust and hinders the rational use of CEIs by future dementia patients.
