The key to success: English language testing in China.

The article discusses the issues and concerns of English language testing in China. The history of testing and examination in China can be traced to the imperial period. However, it is stated that the English language testing in China has much shorter history. These English tests are taken by Chinese English language learners. It is stated that those who passed the tests are successful in their academics and in their life in general. An overview of the tests and examinations of English designed and administered in China, as well as the current research in language testing done by Chinese researchers are presented in the article.
