Present Development Status and Projection of Biodegradable Plastics.

The article provides information on biodegradable plastics in China. According to the author, plant fiber and starch are the raw materials for biodegradable plastics. Furthermore, the country has a total capacity of 80,000 t/a biodegradable plastics and an output of 20, 000-30,000 tons a year. Among the advantages of biodegradable plastics include water and carbon dioxide can be lowered easily and it has 30% carbon dioxide emission compared to oil based plastics.
