Abstract
- The article reports that the U.S. House has finished debate on legislation giving the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission increased authority to recall dangerous products such as children's toys. A roll call vote was requested and postponed until later. House Energy and Commerce Chairman John Dingell's committee approved the bill 51-0 and he then successfully appealed to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to add it to the House agenda under suspension of the rules.
