Abstract

The article focuses on the results of the 2006 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) educational tests, which are conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The article reports that the scores of 15-year-old British students in reading, math, and science fell dramatically from the 2000 test scores, although their performance by international standards was average. The scores are reportedly receiving criticism in Great Britain. INSET: Sample questions from the latest tests.
