Abstract

The article focuses on a law in Arizona which will take effect January 1, 2008 which mandates that a firm knowingly employing an illegal alien is subject to losing its business license. It is estimated that illegal aliens make up approximately 10 percent of the state's work force. Business groups are challenging the law in federal court. Economists believe that it is possible labor shortages could damage Arizona's economy.
