Abstract

The article reports that Gerald J. DiChiara, lawyer for defendant Anthony Fortunato, who is fighting alleged hate crime charges, stated that his client is gay in Brooklyn Supreme Court. Fortunato is on trial for allegedly chasing Michael J. Sandy, who was also gay, to his death on the Belt Parkway in New York City during a robbery on October 8, 2006. The difference between the legal charges, larceny by trick and felony murder, is discussed.
