Abstract
- The article talks about the a new subway line which is part of the local government's latest efforts to turn Beijing, China into a more livable city. With this ambitious goal in mind, local authorities have worked hand in hand to remove some of the basic obstacles by giving top priority to developing public transportation as a way of easing traffic congestion. The enterprising spirit of its citizens gives the city an extra edge to accomplish its mission of becoming a world-class metropolitan city.
