Abstract

This section discusses a variety of issues concerning occupational health and safety in Great Britain. An inspection program on construction refurbishment sites, conducted by the Health and Safety Executive, found that nearly one in three sites put the lives of workers at risk. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents called for changes in the British health and safety performance. Farmers were reminded by the Health and Safety Executive to take appropriate safety precautions during baling work.
