The study of the so called "hunting-gathering societies" has done necessary to make a revision of the proposals that many specialists in the thematic have exposed. With the help of the elements of analysis and evaluation of the proposal of theoretical analysis of Manuel Gándara, the internal congruence of four proposals of characterization of these societies is evaluated, and the advantages and disadvantages that these proposals have are exposed in relation to other theories against which they compete.
