Abstract

The article focuses on the environmentally-sound and edible bio-packaging developed by scientists at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg. The scientists had developed the new packaging by incorporating hydrophobic beeswax emulsions into hydrophilic pea starch films to manipulate their physical, mechanical and thermal properties. It cites the benefits of the new packaging.
