Abstract
- This paper will present a method of constructing a broadband ring network using multiple transmission lines. It is called the shuffle ring (SR) network because all nodes that have a function similar to that of a switch element in a shuffle switch are distributed systematically over the ring. The SR network employs a simple and autonomous routing algorithm at each node which is connected with only a part of the total ring lines. In spite of this simplicity, it shows some excellent throughput vs. delay characteristics as well as high reliability and flexibility. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
