Abstract

The article highlights the results of a study which assessed the chemical composition of six ecotypes of Leucaena leucocephala. Dry matter, crude protein, true protein, ash and neutral detergent fiber and the anti-nutritional factors mimosine and DHP were analyzed during the dry and rainy seasons. In the dry season, the chemical indicators averaged 24, 29.4, 22.59, 7.92 and 46.50 percent, respectively. In the rainy season, they averaged 25.74, 25.39, 22.74, 8.53 and 43.42 percent, respectively.
