Abstract
- The article discusses research which sought to determine the nutritive value of the foliage from tropical forage trees Brosimum alicastrum and Bauhinia galpii. Degradability studies were performed through the in situ bag technique to evaluate the chemical composition of both plants and their degradative characteristics in the rumen for their rational and economic incorporation into cattle production systems. It was found that both plants have nutritive potential for their incorporation into silvopastoral systems.
